Colby took charge of Devo time today (no big surprise). He announced that today's verse was going to be "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul." When I tried to add in the "and all your mind" he quickly pointed out that "all your mind" was NOT going to be a part of our verse. No biggie- I'm easy going.... today.
Then he announced that we were going to have an "activity" as part of our devotional time. Ever since we did the blind-fold activity with the Proverbs 3:5 Devotional Time, Colby has felt we needed to have an activity with every devotional time. Today he chose to build God a house out of Legos for our activity. Of course I struggled with the fact that this activity had no connection with our "theme verse"... but I let it go....
After God's house was built we had our 4 minute quiet time. And then sang songs of praise. We sang a song with the words to our verse of the day and then we marched around God's house and sang "The Wise/Foolish Man built his House Upon the Rock/Sand" and then ended our devotional time by smashing the house down when "the House on the Sand went SPLAT!"
