Welcome to the last January 2009 Wellness Wednesday. So far we should all be drinking our water, eating our fiber, and detoxing our home of BPA baby products. What should we work on today.... How about snacking! Sounds pleasant doesn't it- but do you do it?
I am a firm believer in the power of snacking. Not grazing (eating continuously all day long), but purposeful scheduled snacking. I think it is ideal to have something in your mouth* every 2 to 3 hours to keep your metabolism up all day long. Snacks not only give you a metabolic boost they also help ward off hunger which puts you "in control" at meal times. And if those weren't reasons enough- snacking has also been shown to help lower cholesterol and level out blood sugar for improved Diabetes control. So grab a snack and enjoy!
